Snowboarding safety before learning tricks

One thing you need to know before learning snowboarding tricks is that it can be dangerous. It is not called an extreme sport for nothing. Before even thinking of going out on the slopes you should be satisfied that you have taken as many precautions as required not only for your own safety but for the safety of others as well. Precautions include wearing the correct protective equipment. This includes the correct loose fitting winter clothing. A good quality helmet, gloves are also a good idea, and if you are a beginner wrist supports will not go amiss. Do not attempt anything that is beyond your skill level and make sure you are not in anyone else’s way as this can be quite dangerous. Remember safety on the slopes is your own responsibility.

Snowboard tricks are cool don’t you think? However, you’ve got your board, you’re kitted out in the “must have” gear and man, you look good carrying your board to the slopes. And you can ride your snowboard down the slopes but what you really want to do is lean a few tricks, even the basics, so you can throw in a few stunts on that run, enjoy your boarding just that little bit more and feel the thrill of it all. Oh yeah, and look even cooler of course!

Well its best to get the basics right before attempting tricks. There are quite a few people with broken ankles who thought they could run before they could walk. As far as snowboarding goes. Snowboarding is basically like surfing on snow so if you know surfing you should adapt quite well to snowboarding. Once you become adept at the basics you can watch some of the more experienced snowboarders and try to emulate them.

When beginning snowboarding it is probably best to go for about a two to three day stretch to get used to the slopes and learn the ropes and then you can really go extreme.
