Snowboarding Trick 1 -The Elementary Trick

This is perhaps the simplest and easiest trick to lean. It’s pretty

elementary but pick this one up and you’re on your way.

Look for a nice, gentle slope which (if possible) is not too busy so

you’ll have plenty of room to yourself.

Get yourself set on your board and crouch down slightly with most

of your weight on your back foot.

With your weight on your back foot slowly begin to shift even more

of your weight on to your back foot. Lift the nose of your board

using the tail to “spring” you in to the air. When your board becomes airborne, level it out raising your knees

towards your chest.

To get yourself back on the ground, angle the nose of your board

downwards landing nose first bending your knees so as to absorb

the impact.

And that’s it. Congratulations. You’ve picked up your first

snowboard trick. Practice and master it – for example do it

repeatedly on a run.

This trick forms the basis of many other snowboard tricks so once

you’re comfortable with this basic trick you’ll have a key foundation

for others.
